Before there was Laird or Dan or Corran, there was Jimmy Snyder, the original river SUPer. Although he called it striding, used a double-bladed paddle and an inflatable kayak, Snyder’s technique is an eerie precursor to the technique now being developed for river standup paddling throughout the world.
