SUP magazine and Salt Life are pleased to present Camp SUP East Coast on Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at St. John’s Pier and Pavilion in St. Augustine Beach, Florida.
Camp SUP, an inclusive gathering created to build the sport of standup paddling by getting people onto the water, hosted a hugely successful and well-attended first event in California last summer and now East Coast paddlers will get the opportunity to participate as well. Camp SUP East Coast will feature wetsuit/SUP gear demos, clinics, an open Fun Paddle Race, beer garden and more, all benefiting Keepers of the Coast.
“SUP magazine’s main goal is simple: to inspire paddlers to get on the water,” says Editor Will Taylor. “Camp SUP is a fantastic way to do that face-to-face with our readers. Whether you’re a first-time paddler, an excited grom looking to learn from the pros or an experienced water-person hoping to try the newest boards, Camp SUP has something for everyone.”
A highlight of the day’s activities, all are welcome to participate in the four-mile open Fun Paddle Race which will begin in front of the iconic St. Johns Pier, proceed around the St. Augustine inlet, into the Matanzas River, and back. Longboards, 12’6″, 14′, Unlimited, prone boards, bathtubs – participants can paddle whatever they choose within the greater paddling family and earn a chance to win prizes. Sign up here (all entries will receive a Camp SUP t-shirt and a one-year digital subscription to SUP magazine.)
