The Wednesday Voice: One Week in Hawaii

Last month, SUP magazine editor Joe Carberry spent a week in Hawaii at two of the most important competitions of the year: The Quiksilver Waterman Waikiki Paddle Festival and Maui’s Olukai Ho’olaule’a. On this week’s Wednesday Voice Carberry shares the sights and sounds of the islands through stills (see the gallery, below) and video.

While the Olukai Ho’olaule’a features the classic Maliko downwind run, the Quiksilver Waikiki Paddle Festival encompasses buoy races, a waterman’s relay featuring SUP, swimming and prone paddling and a distance downwind race on the famed Hawaii Kai run.

Carberry and SUP magazine would like to thank Hawaii’s paddling community for the incredible hospitality. He owes everyone a couple of beers. At least.
