After a dramatic opening event at the Namotu World Paddle Challenge in Fiji at the end of 2011, the Standup World Racing Series will kick off its first event of 2012 in style, in the magnificent town of San Jose in the Philippines, for the CamSur World Paddle Challenge.

As Bonga Perkins will attest, the term ‘waterman’ has become overused. But Perkins defines this culture. The former World Champion longboarder works for the Hawaiian Water Patrol and has been in the water his entire life paddling outriggers, surfing and standup paddling before the sport became popular.
