Maui paddler Bart de Zwart can add another crazy expedition to his lengthy list of solo missions. The Dutch transplant and three-time winner of the Netherlands’ five-day SUP 11-City Tour race set a new record, completing the 11-City Tour's 220-kilometer course nonstop, in 28 hours and 21 minutes.
Bart de Zwart is the second paddler to complete the long journey that begins and ends in Leeuwarden, in the Dutch province of Friesland. Earlier this year, another Dutch paddler, Jasper van Overbeek, completed the 220-km journey nonstop in 37 hours, nearly eight and a half hours slower than de Zwart's new record.
