The O’Neill Tahoe Cup wraps up this weekend (Sunday September 18, 2011) with its final event, a 22-mile race across Lake Tahoe. If you haven’t already found an excuse to paddle on Lake Tahoe, here it is.
Competitors will take off from the Camp Richardson Marina in South Lake Tahoe and race to Kings Beach at the State Beach in North Lake Tahoe. The point-to-point race will include all three board classes (Stock, 14’, and Unlimited) as well as multiple age divisions.
The first three finishers in each board class will be presented with awards and the first three men and women in each age division will also be awarded. As the Tahoe Cup Series comes to a close, awards will be presented to the top men’s and women’s point champions in each of the three board classes from the high elevation race series. Other races in the O’Neill Tahoe Cup included the Donner Lake Memorial race and the Jam from the Dam.
