Registration Open for Race Against Skin Cancer
Registration is open for the 2nd Annual Race Against Skin Cancer, presented by the Friends of the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center.
The standup race, to be held Saturday, February 22, is an initiative of the ongoing partnership between Xcel and the University of Hawai’i Cancer Center to fight skin cancer in Hawai’i and beyond.
Registration will remain open until midnight on Friday, February 21. Racers may also register on-site race day. Participants that register by Monday, February 10 will be guaranteed a sun-protective Xcel Ventx commemorative race t-shirt.
The 2nd Annual Race Against Skin Cancer returns to the iconic Waikiki shoreline with the 2.4-mile course from Kaimana Beach (Sans Souci) to Duke Kahanamoku Beach (Fort DeRussy). Standup paddlers of all levels are encouraged to participate and help raise awareness for skin cancer.
Finish line festivities include the awards presentation for top finishers, an awesome prize drawing for items generously donated by event sponsors, and more. All finishing racers receive automatic free entry into the prize drawing.
Schedule of Events:
• 7:00 – 8:30am: Check in and on-site registration
• 8:45am: Safety briefing
• 9:00am: Race start
• Finish Line: Awards Presentation, prize drawing, and more
