"We are stoked to see Sonni Hönscheid joining our Starboard team. The mix of her exciting artistic work and amazing paddling makes her a very valuable partner looking into the future of paddle boarding. There are a lot of ladies getting into the water and we at Starboard can't wait to fully focus on developing amazing gear for all of them." Svein Rasmussen, Starboard founder and chief innovator.

Sonni Hönscheid is the three-times (2014-2016) SUP World champion, one of the toughest races in the world. The Molokai2Oahu  race covers 32 miles over the open sea between Molokai and Oahu.

In 2016, she also won the most important European race at Lost Mills in her home country Germany as well as  the Euro Tour in 2015 and 2016 and selected  SUP World Series event . She is also a team rider for Mercedes, who sponsors the SUP World Series in Scharbeutz Germany.

Sonni’s artistic talent will expand to Starboards equipment as part of the upcoming 2018 collection.

She finds her calmness in painting and the colorful art pieces can be seen in a permanent exhibition on Sylt.

Sonni will be at the Dusseldorf Boat show from the 21st until the 29th of January and participate in their first indoor wave competition.

"I´m really happy to be part of the Starboard "Dream Team", besides knowing I will have the fastest boards underneath my feet, I´m also very excited from the art point off view and all the colorful projects coming up. A few years ago I already designed some shirts for Ladies and had the chance to get to know a little about the "Tiki" World. I´m very excited to work with a great team off ocean lovers – experts but also perfectionists." Sonni Hönscheid.
