Standup for the Cure Miami Raises $40k
Back in November, Standup for the Cure held it’s inaugural Miami event as part of its national expansion. Hundreds of inspired paddlers took to Miami’s waterways, donning pink jerseys in support of breast cancer survivors and spreading breast cancer awareness. The event raised $40,000 to support the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Affiliate of Susan G Komen, which was recently presented with a check by Standup for the Cure Ambassador Helga Goebel.
“This is an incredible, incredible event,” said Susan G Komen Executive Director Katherine McCarthy. “We hope to grow it next year and this [donation] goes a long way to providing mammograms, screenings, and treatment for women in Brouward, Miami-Dade, and even Monroe Counties.”
Next up, Standup for the Cure heads back to its home in Southern California for the Newport Beach event, scheduled for May 2, 2015.
