350 of the world’s elite SUP racers. The most famed downwind run on earth. A new course and an added demo day hosted by world-class athletes. And for the first time in years, the favored invitee of Maui’s prestigious downwind race—the wind itself—was on site in full force. Needless to say, SUP magazine was not going to miss the seventh annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a.

To capture the awesomeness of the Ho’o, SUP sent photo editor Aaron Schmidt to chase down the action by boat. He returned with this intimate showcase for us all to enjoy. Warning: your latissimus dorsi may be vicariously soar by the click of the final slide.
