Gomez Groms Dominate Summer SUP Throwdown in Daytona Beach

The Eastern SUP Surfing Circuit’s (ESSC) Summer SUP Throwdown stop in Dayton Beach, Fla. saw small surf, but lots of style from competitors last weekend. The event was the second of five stops in the ESSC’s summer series, and saw repeat wins from the Gomez groms.
Jupiter, Fla.’s Izzi (13) and Giorgio (15) Gomez are doing something right during their downtime because they’re taking home back-to-back wins like it’s nobody’s business. After winning the Summer SUP Throwdown’s first stop in Juno, Izzi and Giorgio were back at it, with Izzi taking the win in the Women’s Division and Giorgio winning the Men’s Shortboard (<8'11) Division and Men's Longboard (>9’0) Division. The Grant brothers, also of Florida, maintained their top finishes from the first stop as well, with Kieran taking second in the Men’s Shortboard Division and fourth in the Men’s Longboard, while younger brother, Fisher, finished fifth in the Men’s Longboard Division.
