The Surfing America USA Championships went off last weekend on the south side of Huntington Beach Pier. Standup paddlesurfing, longboarding and shortboarding competitions were held with great performances across the board.

The Standup World Tour has touched down in Tahiti for its third stop of the year, the progressive Sapinus Pro. The event kicked off with the Na Kama Kai youth clinic, Expression Session and trials, with the Main Event scheduled to begin during the peak of the swell.

I’ve been in the ocean my whole life. I learned how to standup paddle here on Maui when Laird (Hamilton), Dave Kalama and Loch (Eggers) were down at Ho’okipa with their huge standup boards and they let me go out at the point. I remember catching my first wave and being hooked. I was 9 or 10.
