Teva Mtn. Games SUP race gallery

C4 Waterman’s Noa Ginella won the Eddie Bauer/First Ascent Stand Up Paddle Sprint at the Teva Mountain Games in Vail., Colo. SUP magazine staff photographer Robert Zaleski was there to catch the action for this exclusive online gallery. The 16-year-old Ginella (who had never paddled whitewater prior to the event) took top honors in the 40-person field of the inaugural downriver race event held June 5, out-paddling everyone from river veterans Dan Gavere and Charlie MacArthur to fellow big wave stand-up paddlers from Hawaii. On the women’s side, Jenny MacArthur of Aspen, Colo., beat Nicole Duke of Boulder, Colo., while Jen Koki of Hawaii glided to third place down the three-mile course set on a raging section of Gore Creek with a nearly flood-level flow of 1,200 cfs.
