Next’s 3rd Annual National SUP Day again brought the paddling community together to raise awareness for Cystic Fibrosis. The Newport Back Bay was filled with teens and adults living with CF. With the average lifespan of those with the disease right around 37, researchers are working diligently to find a cure. In the meantime, NEXT National SUP day brings awareness to the cause and gets those with CF on the water as saltwater and exercise greatly increases their quality of life. NEXT works with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation to understand this debilitating bronchial diseases that affects more than 30,000 people in the US alone.
