Boundary Waters: A Behind-the-Scenes Edit from One  Expedition of the Year Nominee

Last year, Ryan Salm and two friends set out to standup paddle the Boundary Waters Canoe Wilderness Area, a rugged stretch of north woods forest peppered with a seemingly endless array of glacial lakes in northeastern Minnesota on the US-Canada border. Last spring Salm and company completed the trip—160 miles of paddling, 22 miles of portaging and countless photographs—and his journey made its way onto the history books with a feature in our Gear Guide. Then, the Boundary Waters mission was nominated for Expedition of the Year at the upcoming SUP Awards, presented by Tommy Bahama. Now, you can watch this behind the scenes edit from the trip, then go cast a ballot with your choice for top expedition and other categories. And later, there’s a chance you’ll win some awesome prizes just for voting. Enjoy!
