Paddling for Gold in the Special Olympics

Paddleboarding is one of the most welcoming and accepting communities in all of watersports. In fact, there is only one key requirement for beginning paddlers: a positive attitude. As long as someone is willing to try, there will be a paddler willing to help. A perfect example of this occurred in Florida at the Second Annual Statewide SUP competition hosted by Special Olympics Florida and the Ron Jon Surf Shop. Nearly 100 athletes from across the Sunshine State participated in the competition and their smiles tell the whole story. This uplifting video gives us a look at the impact SUP has made for this community and how positive attitudes can overcome any challenges.
