Looking Forward to Lost Mills
The Lost Mills race is one of SUP’s most competitive summer events, and one of the largest in Europe. Each year, the four-day event sees some of the biggest names in the SUP racing world competing in multiple high intensity races on Germany’s Lake of Brombach. At this year’s event, kicking off Thursday, June 19, we expect the level of competition to increase even further with a couple top racers making their Lost Mills debuts.
Despite being held the same weekend as the Payette River Games, the biggest event in whitewater SUP, the annual Lost Mills race attracts standout SUP racers from around the globe to compete in the International Race--an 18-km long distance race--and “The Fastest Paddler on Earth”--an elite sprint race. In its third year, the Lost Mills will feature the usual International and “Fastest Paddler” events, as well as an amateur/open race, a kids race, SUP yoga clinics and a SUPAA race official certification course with SUPAA President Chase Kosterlitz.
Word is that this year, as the third stop of the SUP Champions Tour, World Champion Danny Ching and top Tahitian racer Georges Cronsteadt will be making their debuts at Lost Mills, giving 2013‘s International Race and “Fastest Paddler on Earth” Champs Eric Terrien and Connor Baxter some extra motivation to dig deep throughout the weekend.
