Over 300 participants and dozens of eager volunteers descended upon Lake Sammamish to experience the national Standup for the Cure Movement for themselves. Nobody was disappointed. The weather was perfect, the venue was fantastic and the community was amazing.
Our new family members were treated to Standup Paddling lessons and a SUP Yoga session lead by local Lindsay Lambert and professional paddlers from Mountain to Sound Outfitters and Thunderbird SUP. After the Manuiki Foundation graced us with our Traditional Hawaiian blessing, participants took part in our “Sea of Pink” tribute to our breast cancer Survivors followed by some great racing.
Standup paddling is only a part of this event series. Our health and fitness expo, Live entertainment with Stephanie Anne Johnson , Happy Hour with Barefoot Wine, Tito’s Vodka and Mac and Jack’s and a delicious lunch provided by Ivar’s Seafood kept everyone busy for the entire day. All of this FUN revolves around our fundraising campaign which supports the local Susan G Komen Puget Sound organization enabling them to expand their community support for the under served in the counties surrounding Seattle.
Our partners make this all possible. Thank you to Komo News, Seattle Refined an Star 101.5 for getting the word out. Our National partners Barefoot Wine and Maui Jim share our passion for saving lives across the country and our new local partners Eastside FC, Halvorson Cancer Clinic and Cascade Mountain Tech help us establish our event in this region.
