The New Year is a time for change and personal growth, a notion not lost on professional standup paddlers in 2018. After news broke yesterday that Kai Lenny is leaving Naish, today we’ve learned that another elite paddler is on the move. This morning, Oahu’s SUP surfing and racing savant Mo Freitas announced on Instagram that he’s close to finalizing a contract with a new board sponsor.
A top contender in both SUP surfing and racing, Freitas was previously signed with Focus SUP until the end of the 2017 season. To this point, mums been the word as to where the 20-year-old will wind up, but we’ll keep you up-to-date once the official announcement has been made.
I am enjoying the snow and this vacation, it feels good to recharge, refocus, realign and take in the new year to renew my commitments. 2018 is going to be great! I am finally done with negotiations and one step closer to signing a deal with my new board sponsor, feels good to have the support of a well established company, one that shares the same goals, visions and values. Stay tuned as we will be officially releasing news soon. #newyear #newboard
