Star studded line up for World Series at the America’s Cup
After two dramatic city stops in two weeks (Hamburg and Chicago), the Standup World Series is now headed to San Francisco this weekend for Stop 7, the America's Cup Open (AC Open), integrated into the world famous America’s Cup of Sailing at Marina Green.
With yet another breathtaking backdrop, the World Series will witness the best paddlers from around the globe battle it out in front of record crowds all weekend long at the America’s Cup site. It all comes down to the wire on the Standup World Series on the second stop on the US Trilogy of Events.
World Series frontrunners Connor Baxter and Kai Lenny will once again match up coming off another intense battle at the last stop in Hamburg. While Connor is currently the yellow jersey holder with his ratings lead, Kai Lenny is right on his heels, with multiple single discipline wins against Connor this year and a clean sweep at the Hamburg stop of the Tour just under two weeks ago. One thing is for sure, it will be a battle for the ages once again this weekend, so make sure to stay tuned to:

World Series Contenders to step up at Stop 7
From Kody Kerbox, Zane Schweitzer and Eric Terrien, to Noa Ginella, Ryan Helm, Chase Kosterlitz and Brennan Rose, the competition at the AC Open will be intense as we come into the closing stages of the 2013 season. While Connor and Kai are battling it out for the top spot, it's still an open game, with these two California stops leading into the prestigious World Championship Finals at Turtle Bay Resort on Oahu’s fabled North Shore.

Annabel Anderson to be met with fierce competition in SF
World Series Ratings leader Annabel Anderson will be met with fierce competition in San Francisco, as leading American ladies step up to do battle. Competitors include Jenny Kalmbach, Gillian Gibree, and Jen Lee amongst others; so stay tuned, as the women will be well represented in SF for this historic event. The last four stops have provided some epic battles amongst the women’s division, and this weekend in San Francisco, it promises to be no different.

AC Open event to welcome in local and visiting athletes
The AC Open welcomes local elite athletes, open paddlers looking to participate in San Francisco without taking on the full extent of the Long Distance Course, and, of course, the very best standup paddlers in the world.
With a 3.5-mile course that will take place front and center at the America’s Cup Marina Green site, coupled with the World Series Sprint Racing that is open to all, there will be something for everyone at Stop 7 of the Standup World Series in San Francisco.

Stunning long distance to take in world famous landmarks
After a high-profile presentation the morning of Saturday, August 30th, the Long Distance racers will take to the water at 2pm. For the Elite athletes, the Long Distance Race will consist of a 7.5-mile course that will take in some of San Francisco’s most striking and well-known landmarks:
A start at Marina Green before the crowds at the America’s Cup zone will see the competitors sprint down a first leg in front of the Stadium seating, to head out to the Golden Gate bridge, turn around the south tower, and then head down to Alcatraz before turning back to Marina Green for a dramatic finish.
For the Open division, a buoy marked course will keep all the action close, as the 3.5-mile course will provide a challenging and action-packed race for all participants.

World Series Sprints to provide dynamic sport showcase
After another high-profile presentation at 10am on Sunday, September 1st, the World Series Sprint Course will provide a dynamic showcase of the sport to an impressive on-site and online audience. With stadium seating for up to 7,000 spectators overlooking the sprint course, the athletes will be in the spotlight as they take on the heat-format sprint racing at the America’s Cup racing HQ at Marina Green.

Celebrity and Team Relays to entertain on Labor Day
Labor Day (Monday, September 2nd) will see a series of Team Relays featuring celebrity athletes from multiple sporting worlds, as SUP takes center stage at the America’s Cup.
From Oracle Captain Jimmy Spithill, to other members of the crew and athletes from different sporting realms, stay tuned for a sporting showdown of epic proportions.

PUMA to host social events and The Starboard Movie Premiere
We are proud to announce that PUMA will host a major welcome event for all athletes and the SUP community at their HQ in AC Park on Saturday, August 31st, from 5.30pm. With food, drinks and music, PUMA will open their arms to the SUP community and celebrity athletes, as history is once again made here on the Standup World Series.
PUMA will also be hosting the West Coast Premiere of The Starboard Movie, with many of the movie’s stars in attendance and on-site for poster signings and Q&As at the PUMA site in AC Park.
The Movie screening will take place on the big screen in AC Park at 6pm on Sunday evening, with poster signings starting at 5:30pm and PUMA’s hospitality on-hand for a special evening for all, so make sure not to miss it.
