SUP Awards has always been our sport’s biggest night.

The world’s top paddlers trade swimsuits for formal wear and the entire industry comes together for one night to celebrate the most impressive accomplishments from the past year in SUP. This year, the #PPG2017 Kickoff Party featuring the SUP Awards presented by Salt Life is taking the experience to a whole new level.

Open bar? Check. Free food? You betcha. Very special concert from pro surfer Tim Curran and the Kalama Brothers? Oh yeah. All of this, plus the chance to mingle with the sport’s top athletes and see firsthand who will be crowned Male and Female Paddler of the Year at the highly-anticipated SUP Awards ceremony. And did we mention it’s all in support of a good cause?

So, what’s the best part? You’re invited!

Tickets to the general public are available for only $40 pre-sale and $50 at the door. But before you grab those tickets, check out a few of the upgrades we’re making to the biggest party in SUP.

Live Music

As everyone knows, the key to a memorable party is an unforgettable soundtrack. Preferably, one that is performed live by some very talented musicians. The #PPG2017 Kickoff Party will feature not one, not two, but three bands performing live beneath the stars at Doheny State Beach.

Fresh off his popular set during the Ohana Fest in early September, pro surfer Tim Curran is returning to Doheny State Beach to perform live at the SUP Awards. While nothing is confirmed, the rumor mill is swirling about which other star surfers may join him onstage for a musical bonanza. Don’t be surprised if this concert turns into a star-studded jam session for the ages.

Providing the soundtrack to the cocktail reception will be San Diego’s Brent Hollingworth with an acoustic set of popular surf tunes. Later, the Kalama Brothers will bring their Aloha vibes back to the SUP Awards stage for an acoustic set of feel-good songs.

Open Bar

Forget about spending ten bucks for a concert beer, at the #PPG2017 Kickoff Party you can enjoy unlimited libations for free. That wasn’t a typo, your SUP Awards ticket includes access to our open bar for those over 21 years of age.

Enjoy a refreshing Kona brew, sip on some Beach Whiskey or slurp a satisfying margarita made with Dulce Vida’s organic tequila. No matter your beverage of choice, we’ll keep them flowing all night long.

Free Food

We understand people need to eat. To keep everyone full and satisfied, we enlisted the help of San Clemente’s own Surfside Pizza to provide the chow for all of our SUP Awards guests. Free pizza and free beer? Even without the music, the ticket pretty much pays for itself.

Meet the World’s Best Paddlers

While live music plus free food and drinks is awesome, this night is about bringing the SUP community together to celebrate our great sport. That means you’ll have an opportunity to mingle with star paddlers including Connor Baxter, Zane Schweitzer Annabel Anderson, Candice Appleby and many others.

In addition to the regular suspects, we’re excited to announce that we have a very special guest flying in from South Africa. Chris Bertish, who made history back in March by becoming the first person to successfully SUP across the Atlantic Ocean, will be joining us on-site to answer questions about his epic journey.

SUPport a Great Cause

A percentage of every ticket sold to the #PPG2017 Kickoff Party featuring SUP Awards presented by Salt Life will go to the Young and Brave Foundation, a non-profit that helps affected children and their families dealing with cancer.

It’s going to be a great party and one you don’t want to miss!

Save $10 by purchasing your tickets now or get them at the gate for $50. Doors open at 6pm, with the show beginning at 7:30pm.
