The 5th Annual OluKai Ho’olaule’a went off May 11 – 12 on Maui, with the largest showing of paddlers in the event’s history. The two-day ho’olaule’a, or ‘celebration,’ drew hundreds of paddlers to race Maui’s famous downwind run, the 8-mile stretch from Maliko Gulch to Kanaha Beach Park. In addition to the racing, the festival featured a family fun paddle, sailing canoe rides, and a luau with live music and hula performances.
