The Standup World Series hits Chicago this weekend for stop number 6 of the Series, and the opening leg of the US Trilogy of Events. After an epic stop in Hamburg, Germany, won by Kai Lenny from Maui and Annabel Anderson from New Zealand, the world’s best will descend upon one of the US’ most vibrant cities for the next showdown in what has been a dramatic year for the World Series.

Leading contenders to battle it out at North Avenue Beach
The leading contenders on the Standup World Series are set to battle it out this weekend for vital ranking points and the event Title in this key US market. Kai Lenny is coming off a win in Hamburg, but he will meet up again with arch rival and current Rankings leader Connor Baxter also from Maui, as the two will battle it out for the win here in Chicago. As the points are now even closer afte Hamburg, this will be a critical match up in the 2013 Season.
However, the two talents from Maui will be joined by a host of fierce competition, as the racing will be intense here in Chicago for this 6th stop on the 2013 World Series. Watch out for Kody Kerbox from Maui who is on a great roll right now, but also Zane Schweitzer, Jake Jensen from Australia and somewhat more of a dark horse, Ryan Helm, who will be here to make his presence felt in the Midwest of the US. Also to watch out for is the other powerhouse from downunder, Paul Jackson, coming straight from one of the most intense races of the year in Hamburg, and here to make a statement in Chicago.
The women to stand strong at North Avenue Beach
2012 World Champion and current ratings leader with a 100% winning record so far this year will be the woman to beat this weekend in Chicago: Annabel Anderson from New Zealand. However, she will not be without strong competition from the likes of Angela Jackson from Australia, who showed strong form in Germany last weekend, amongst other leading US paddlers.
Open fleet and entry level racing with complete the action
As the Standup World Series opens its arms to the Midwest Paddle community with open racing for both 12’6 and 14′, there will be something for everyone here at North Avenue Beach this weekend.
Fiat to bring the silent dance party to North Avenue Beach
Besides the action on the water, there will be plenty of action on the beach, as Fiat will bring the Urban Surf Beach Party to the World Series throughout this weekend.
