Foudy Wins GoPro Rookie of the Year at #PPG2015

On October 10th and 11th, a 16-year-old local girl challenged the best female SUP racers in the world on the sport's biggest stage. Dana Point's Shae Foudy came in fourth place overall at the Pacific Paddle Games presented by Salt Life after finishing third in the Distance and sixth in the Technical finals. For her superb efforts, Foudy has been given the GoPro Rookie of the Year Award for the inaugural Pacific Paddle Games.

Foudy was given the Award—consisting of a GoPro Hero4 Prize Pack—for being the top-placing, under-18 competitor in the event. She performed admirably alongside the likes of Candice Appleby, Annabel Anderson, Fiona Wylde and a veritable who's-who of elite female paddlers from around the world.

The Pacific Paddle Games challenged Pro racers to participate in both Distance racing as well as a Technical racing in and out through the surf.

Foudy is no stranger to these disciplines, and in fact practices paddling with the local Paddle Academy in these waters week in and week out.
