#PPG2017 is a time for paddlers of all ages and abilities to come together and compete on paddling’s biggest stage. While everyone knows stars such as #PPG2017 winners Connor Baxter and Annabel Anderson, it is the everyday paddlers that comprise the backbone of our sport.

The men and women who participate not for sponsors or prize money, but for the passion that burns inside them. They come from different backgrounds, countries and even generations. Photographer Christian Jung captured these post-race portraits of the Open racers–complete with sand, sweat, and tears–to give everyone a sense of just how varied and inclusive our SUP community truly is.
