There aren’t many better places on earth for a standup paddle race than Maui’s north shore. Long known for its world-class wind and waves, the area is home to both Jaws (arguably the best big wave in the world) and the Maliko Run (arguably the best downwind run in the world), and with offerings like that on tap it’s also home to many of the world’s best paddlers (see Kai Lenny and Connor Baxter, among many others). And now for the first year of the newly formed APP World Tour, it’s home to the first World Tour race to ever grace the island—the Maui Pro-Am—coming March 10 through March 12 to Ho’okipa Beach Park. It’s a suiting place for a monumental race, and as the World Tour blossoms into 2017 with more vigor than we’ve ever seen, we just can’t wait to see what goes down on Maui next weekend.

Stay tuned to for in-depth coverage of the event!
