As far as we can tell, everything that really matters in the ocean life is bigger in South Africa: waves, wind and sharks. These factors tend to breed some serious ocean-goers. Examples: Chris Bertish, Gary van Rooyen, Thomas King and Peter Petersen getting after it on the Millers Run in 15-foot seas and 30-40 knot winds. Just check out the spray coming off the derrick near the two-minute mark for proof of the heaviness. Intense.
And don’t forget to enter our Find the Glide contest for a chance to win an SIC Bullet and a trip to our favorite downwind destination. Runs like this (and of course, mortal runs) are exactly what we’re looking for.
