Video | Great White Sharks…Up Close

While they’re always in the back of our minds, sharks are something paddlers don’t like to think about all that much. We are always aware of them, but for our own sanity we try not to dwell on our carnivorous friends. However, when the men in the grey suits appear only a couple feet under your board, well, that’s enough to send a chill up the spine of any paddler.

This is exactly what happened to paddler Jodie Nelson off the shore of Surfside, California. According to Nelson, great whites have been frequenting the area for at least six months. This video seems to prove that and gives us an up-close view of two great whites cruising just below Nelson’s SUP.
