Lady Ganga Kickstarter Campaign

In 2011 we ran a story on Michele Baldwin, a 45-year-old mother of three who paddled the Ganges while battling cervical cancer. Her goal wasn’t just to finish the 700-mile expedition, but also to raise awareness of HPV and cervical cancer. She did both.

Unfortunately, shortly after we ran the story, Michele succumbed to her illness. But, her story lived on, as Michele’s voyage down the Ganges gained national attention and took home Expedition of the Year at the 2012 SUP Awards. Now, three years later, Baldwin's legacy continues with a documentary film, "Lady Ganga" by filmmaker Frederic Lumiere.

Lumiere and co-producer Mark Hefti are looking for donations on their Kickstarter page, to help promote and distribute the film. All of the proceeds from the film will directly benefit the Michele Baldwin Memorial Fund, which helps the fight against cervical cancer.
