The weather has been pretty weird as of late. The West Coast went from extreme drought to extremely drenched, and the generous dousing of winter is still resonating in an abundance of wildflowers, vibrant foliage and pumping river flows from Washington to Southern California. For us nature enthusiasts it’s been great, and perhaps no standup paddle athletes are more stoked on the prolific precipitation than the whitewater chargers.

Hood River, Oregon is a paddling destination renowned for diverse offerings and here we find it in it’s early-April prime. From raging downwinders to epic whitewater runs, ’tis the season for fun on Hood River and the fellas over at Big Winds are capitalizing. Enjoy a short glimpse into the fun you might have there, too. Road trip, anyone?
