Believe it or not, the snow is still aplenty in California as we round into a summer of SUP outings. The snow pack is stout and flow rates of the state’s mountain rivers are soaring with frigid melt and runoff. For the paddler who’s tough enough to brave subzero temperatures, it’s a whitewater heaven. Here we find a prime example from river charger Davide Santori on the Truckee River in Northern California. With proper cold water submersion gear and a textbook brace stroke, Santori shows us how to make the most of the white summer ahead.
