At SUP Magazine, we stumble across a wide array of standup paddling videos when searching for the newest trends or craziest new edit. But every once in a while we come across something that we haven’t seen before. This video is a prime example of that.

A paddler at the Columbia River Gorge apparently decided to get creative with the classic downwind run and added a sail. And by sail, we mean some form of an umbrella attached to his back. Does it work? We can’t say for sure, but it certainly is an interesting approach. Check it out for yourself and then let us know your opinion.
