With board technology continuing to improve, SUP fishing has seen some significant growth in recent years. This is especially true in the southeast, where narrow waterways make SUP an ideal craft to pursue fish in tight spaces.

In this video, experienced angler Palm Beach Pete is fishing for tarpon on Florida’s San Sebastian River. He claims to have been pursuing the tarpon for three years but is yet to land one. While that may seem like a long time, these fish are acrobatic, easily spit hooks and can reach 300 pounds.

However, this time he finally managed to land the prized gamefish. Watch the full edit to learn what he used to catch this elusive fish.
