SUP racing and SUP surfing are two very different things. While you can catch nearly any wave on a raceboard, you can’t exactly rip on a 14-foot board that is only 25 inches wide. And while you can rip on a seven-foot SUP surfboard, it’s a bit tougher to paddle into smaller waves.

Italian paddler Leonard Nika decided that wasn’t acceptable, so he conjured up a way to get the best of both worlds. We could describe what he does here, but it’s probably best if you just watch for yourself.
