Video | Desert Isles | Spearfishing In Remote Baja

For many Californians, the call of Baja is strong. There, right over the border, waits adventure, desolation and myriad challenges. Last summer, we answered the call. A team of paddlers and divers hooked up with SUP magazine photographers and drove twelve hours down the famed peninsula to Bahia de Los Angeles with the goal of using SUPs as a base for their spearfishing adventures. They battled brutal winds, intense heat and long paddles but they were successful: each night they feasted on fresh fish. Not only that, but they learned that standup paddling was an ideal way to hunt in the bountiful waters of the Sea of Cortez.
