Multi-day SUP expeditions usually result in experiences that paddlers recount to their friends over and over. How they overcame challenges, witnessed immense natural beauty, and most importantly, just got to enjoy an adventure through remote wilderness. Of course, very few paddlers will even think of attempting this in the dead of winter.

This uncle and nephew duo would be the exception. They portaged, paddled, and camped over the course of three days and two chilly nights in Washington’s North Cascades National Park. Equipped with the proper cold weather gear, they experienced a winter wonderland in a way few people ever have. So sit back, grab a blanket and enjoy this frosty footage.
